Are You Against Curfews?
I can rememeber as a kid growing up in Chicago being against curfews because I didn't like to come in when the street lights came on. Out of a group of maybe 10 of us that got together, it was only 2 of us that lived on a seperate block which meant we always had to leave early, while the majority could stay out in front of their homes a little longer. Do you remember coming in before the street lights came on or was it just a "Chicago Thing"? :)

I've instilled it in my children now that when they go outside, to check in every few hours and to be in before the street lights come on, whether they are against curfew or not. I think that curfews can be a good and a bad thing depending on the situation.

James Valley, the mayor of West Helena Arkansas, has issued a mandatory curfew for an area of a neighborhood that is about a mile long. a part of the article is below but you can see the full article by "clicking here".

According to Mayor James Valley, this move is in the best interest of the city.  "This curfew is for all people...everyone is subject to be stopped - almost like marshal law.  And that's exactly what some are calling it.  The mayor has issued a curfew for a neighborhood that extends about a mile - not too far from city hall.  If you're caught outside without a good enough excuse, you're going to jail.  "It's zero tolerance, you're going to jail."

WoW!

I can agree on this being a form of martial law and I hope people aren't surprised when a few years from now they look out their windows to see barbed wire, armed gaurds and military vehicles.

True enough some may feel that they are protecting the citizens, but could this be the first stages of marshal law? Many think so and after this and other things I've seen...I feel the same. I can remember when a tornada hit outside my home a few months ago, knocking out all power for the entire day and later into the night. As I was outside cooking on the grill by the light of a lantern, a police car slowly came around the corner with his search light. Though I knew I was not in any danger or a curfew situation, it sure felt like it. This incident gave me even more clarity on why some people against curfews because I could never be comfortable of being a prisoner in my own home.

Talk to you later.
