Business Opportunities for Women

Business opportunities for women are available everywhere you look. However, over the last four years, I have noticed a trend that trancends gender and it scares me. To be honest, it may have been there all along and I recently noticed it.

Want to know what I see?

1. People are not reading, and
2. People tend to be lazy

Let's start with the first item...

People are not reading

I am shocked by the questions I get as I teach computer classes, when I taught college and when I coach clients. At one point, it bothered me so much that I considered getting out of the coaching business.

What I am seeing is many people skim content and do not read it. It's this skimming that causes a lot of confusion. Instead of a person taking the time to fully read and comprehend what's written they run to implement and wonder why things don't work. Or they just ask questions because they do not want to read.

I wish I could say this was true with people who are so-called uneducated but it's not. I'm finding a lot of educated people who are not reading too! Not sure what the heck is going on but it's really sad.

What's actually feeding this trend and why aren't people aware of it?

People tend to be lazy

In this microwave society, people look for instant gratification. This is the culprit. This is why people skim throught stuff without fully understanding it hoping to get quick results.

But your're wondering, "What in the heck does this have to do with Business Opportunites for Women?"

As a business woman, you have to ask yourself one question, "Am I a business opportunity seeker or an entrepreneur?" Don't be so quick to answer that question until you read the following.

Business Opportunity Seekers...
  1. Want huge results with minimum effort
  2. They follow the crowd
  3. Jump from one opportunity to the next
  4. Rarely stay focused long enough to see the benefits of their efforts
  5. Fall for the hype
  6. Get upset quick when they do not see the artificial results they fell for
  7. Rarely invest money properly to help grow their business opportunity
  8. Get frustrated quick
  9. And much more
An Entrepreneur...
  1. Has and implements a plan
  2. Often leads the crowd
  3. Focused on long term results
  4. Not moved by tough times and usually weather the storms
  5. Rarely falls for hype
  6. Has an advertising and marketing budge for their business
  7. Develop strategic partnerships to help grow the business
To be honest, I have seen an increase in opportunity seekers and less entrepreneurs. But that's my opinion! :)

I always tell people who are in MLM and Network Marketing businesses, "You want to stay far away from business opportunity seekers because you will have a high turnover or dropout rate if you target them. Plus, you will waste a lot of time and energy."

Business opportunities for women are everywhere but make sure you run a busines and do not have the business running you.

One more thing...

...if  you think there are shortcuts get over it. You must do the work in order to get the results you desire. Anything else and you will short change yourself.

Until next time!
