A recent news report about Donald Trump bailing out Ed McMahon, celebrity spokesperson for the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes and former sidekick of Johnny Carson, as he faced foreclosure of his $4.8 million estate was an eye opener. The fact is that the foreclosure situation in America is an equal opportunity crisis.

According to the August 14, 2008 Chicago Tribune article titled Donald Trump to Buy Ed McMahon's House, "Mega-developer and TV personality Donald Trump has agreed to buy Ed McMahon's Beverly Hills house for an undisclosed amount and allow McMahon to continue living in it. Details of the deal are still being ironed out."

Foreclosures abound, and according to Economists, America is threatening a recession. Before things get better they are bound to get much worse. Who knows what would have happened to Ed McMahon if Donald Trump had not rescued him? For Ed McMahon, Donald Trump was his Plan B when his Plan A failed. Most of us won't have "The Donald" to come to our rescue, so what will we do? We also need our own Plan B.

What is Plan A, and why won't it work?

For most Americans, Plan A is a 40-40-40 plan: Work a job 40 hours a week for 40 years and then retire on 40% of a salary that you struggled to survive on in the first place! According to a Washington Post article written July 13, 2008, Ernst & Young recently conducted study about retirement, and concluded "that nearly three out of five middle-class retirees will probably run out of money if they maintain their pre-retirement lifestyles". Plan A is the average person's plan. The problem is that Plan A is no longer a workable plan, and if it is yours, you need a Plan B.

OUR STORY

My husband and I implemented our Plan B two years ago. I had worked in Corporate America for nearly 20 years. I don't know about you, but for me, twenty years of punching a time clock or being told when to go to work and when to take off, when to go to lunch and when to take a break is 20 years too long. If during that 20 years, you are also building another man's dream and not your own, it is much, much too long!

PLAN B WORKS

In August, 2006, a good friend introduced us to a business opportunity that we could not have imagined would be as wonderful as it is. It became our Plan B, and since initiating it, like the people you will read about HERE, we have turned our Plan B into Plan A. I am thankful because it allows me to live life on my own terms. I now stay home and raise my 21 month old toddler and instill in her the values I want her to grow up with, rather than relying on daycare workers to do that for me.
