Making the decision to become a homebased business owner is a big step. It requires commitment, teachability and coachability and a deep desire to succeed. If you decide that failure is simply not option, and follow the strategies outlined below, you can be assured to achieve ultimate success in your chosen home business endeavor. Below are three principles that I call "success strategies" that I have found to be invaluable:
I Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”
In other words, stay focused, don’t be distracted, keep building and watch for the fruit of your efforts.
Success Strategy One
Stay focused – When you join a business, inevitably you will have goals, dreams and a BIG WHY (the reason that will continue to motivate and propell you to ultimate success). Along the way to achieving your goals, sometimes "life" get's in the way. I am a wife, mother and minister. From the time that I wake up in the morning, I have 100 things in mind to do, but by the close of a long day, sometimes I've only finished a fraction of those tasks. And in the midst of washing sippy cups, feeding, changing and playing with the baby, washing clothes, washing dishes, sweeping, moping and vacuuming floors, preparing meals for my husband and an array of other duties, I still have a business to run and clients to attend to. Not only that, but as a person called to minister to and meet the needs of people in need, I sometimes feel pulled in a thousand different directions. It takes all the faith that I can muster sometimes just to stay focused, but stay focused I must. Otherwise, those dreams, goals and REASONS for my business will never see the light of day. Changing the financial landscape of our families, enjoying time with these families and leaving a legacy for our children is one of the main reasons most of us own homebased businesses. These are the things that are our focus when we start our businesses and they must remain our focus throughout the issues of "life". By staying focused on our goals, our dreams and our WHY, we will all be much more likely than not to achieve them.
Success Strategy Two
Steer Clear of Distractions – Distractions abound! They can come from anyone or anything. Friends, family, co-workers, overdue bills or even celebrations can be a distraction. Whatever the form, be mindful that their purpose is to move you off your purpose and agenda. The primary way to recognize them is by knowing that distractions are always time stealers, and can be addictive. You can get so involved in the things that distract you that you forget your primary work, ultimately forgoing your dreams. So the best strategy is to steer clear of distractions altogether.
Success Strategy Three
Keep building - Success in any business whether or not it is homebased simply means continuing to build... continue to grow. My business is all about relationships. In order to build your business, you must also build your relationships. Whether you are building a team of business partners or a niche market, when it’s all said and done, if you keep building you will be successful. Success strategies to stay focused, steer clear of distractions and keep building, will assure of our ultimate success because “our labor will not be in vain”.
