MLM The Truth and The Myths

3 steps towards success in MLM
 

I came into MLM almost two years ago. My background is marketing and promotions in the entertainment field. When I saw the product VM Direct had to offer it blew me away. I immediately wanted to use it, then I found out that there was a business opportunity I did my research I liked what I found, followed my instinct and jumped right in. My plans for this were huge. I then started to go to the hotel presentations and seminars and conferences, which were great by the way, they spoke a lot about talking to all of my friends and family about the opportunity, so I did. As I was sharing my opportunity I noticed that my friends and family were simply humoring me, they looked at me with sarcastic smiles and would say things like "Wow! That's nice Mari" or " Yeah sure call me when you’re a millionaire" Then I realized I was talking to the wrong people. I thought to myself, my mom is not a business woman, my sister doesn’t like networking and most of my friends are very comfortable with their jobs, I probably wouldn't want to work with them anyway. Here I learned that I need to apply one of they key elements of any business and that is finding the right people. MLM says talk to everybody about the opportunity, I say talk to everybody about the product be selective in who you invite to the business. Recruiting is essential to any business but you have to have the right people if you want a lasting and growing business.

Let me go back to the beginning of the story and I will cover the first step one must take in Network Marketing. When I saw my product I was immediately attracted to it, I absolutely loved it, this is key because how could anyone promote and talk about something that they don't like or believe in. In network marketing you have to talk to others about your product it is imperative that you be authentic and honest, which is much easier to do if you are excited about your product.

1. Choose the right product. Network marketing offers and array of opportunities, choose one that fits you. One that you know you could stick with. One that you could talk about with ease.

I was so excited about the product I could not get enough of it, I learned everything about how it worked how to use it, who else was offering it, who could use it, how it was developed, you name it and I knew it, and if I didn't know it I would go find the answer.

2. Be an expert in your field. Your customers and potential business partners are counting on you to know all about YOUR business. When you first join your business you should be able to count on your sponsor to help you however you CAN NOT use that as a crutch for the life of your business, learn your product BE A LEADER!

The very first person Invited into the business saw me using the product and asked me how it worked so as I was explaining things to him, I asked him a lot of questions about himself and what he did. With all the information I asked him I concluded that he would be a great asset to my business and I offered him an opportunity that he could not refuse.

3. Interview your prospects. Find the eagles get the people who you would be proud to have in your organization, people that are coachable and can work independently. 

 
Let me leave you with one more thing, all of you that have done or are in network marketing have heard the term, "You are in business for yourself but not by yourself" Well… Treat it like you are by yourself because your success depends on YOU and what YOU put into it, Your team will learn the GOOD and BAD qualities that YOU teach them and in the end that will benefit you… or NOT.

Are You Tired of the MLM Myths?
Are you doing everything that your upline is telling you to do and it's not working?

Do your friends and family duck when they see you coming because they know your gonna try to sign them up to your million dollar opportunity? Are you buying people into your business so that you could move ahead? Are you tired of going to hotel presentations, hosting house parties that don't show any results? Are you sick and tired of feeling inadequate because what they are telling you to do is not producing lasting results?
If you answered Yes then it is time to reevaluate your business and start from scratch. I am not saying give up on your business I am merely saying it is time to restructure and start making your business work for you instead of you working for your business.

Let me start by saying this, I love my business opportunity, I love Network Marketing it is the only way that the average Joe or Jane can level the playing field and attain success in business. Anyone who wants to can be successful in network marketing, so why aren't there more of us making the millions?

MLM industry has a 95% failure rate. For years they have been teaching the same thing over and over and for years only the people at the very top make the millions. Let me break it down for you. Presenters show you the opportunity they excite you about the dream of success and financial freedom. They show you the cars, homes and exotic trips you could take if you just believe in the opportunity and tell everyone you know.  you sign up and get all excited about the possibility of making thousands of dollars per week your excitement inspires 4 or 5 other people they come into the business and are full of excitement they sign up 7 or 8 and so on and so on.

What happens when the excitement wears off? and your warm market is cold? You either stick with it or drop out. Well the top people don't feel the sting because they can't loose, you see it is a numbers game. They could present to 100 people and even if only 10% of those people come into the business they are still winning because from that 10% they will still get at the very least 10% more. So you see they are not in the business of teaching you how to run a business they are in the business of motivating you to get more business for them. They can do one presentation and their bank accounts grows while they sleep. Please don't get me wrong it is not a bad thing what they do, it is all part of the game, the 5 percent move ahead while the rest of the heard drown in the sorrow of their deflated spirits and broken dreams.  We just need to smarten up and take the game to the next  level by being the expert unlearn MLM techniques that don't work and learn business solutions that do!
